A Styled Home Weekly Dinner Meal Plan Sample No. 1

recipes styled homelife

Meal planning doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. If you’ve ever reached the end of the day and wondered, “What’s for dinner?” this simple weekly meal plan is for you. I’ve put together a sample dinner menu our family actually eats, using easy, comforting dishes that can be mixed and matched and adapted to your schedule. Some meals are quicker for busy weeknights, while others are better saved for days when you have more time to cook. Use this as inspiration and customize it to what your family loves.

This week, I am sharing a weekly dinner meal plan sample to give you some ideas and inspirations for your own weekly meal planning. Some of the meals are just main meals while others may include side dishes. They may include recipes that are linked into this site's recipes or meals that I have prepared or plan for my family. The dishes that take longer to cook such as the roast chicken and Barbecue Beef Ribs can be made on weekends or on days that you have the time to cook them. The dishes in this plan are delicious and family- friendly. Please note that the meal plans included in this sample does not adhere to any dietary requirements. Here it is!

A Styled Home Weekly Dinner Meal Plan Sample No. 1

Day 1: Spaghetti with garlic bread and garden salad. This is one of my family's well-rotated menu combinations. We seem to have regular cravings for spaghetti with the accompanying side dishes. I also make spaghetti sandwiches for a satisfying snack.

Day 2: Shepherd's Pie - When you want something hearty and delicious for a weekend dinner. Eat it on its own or with a simple garden salad.

Day 3: Beef Noodle Stir fry - When I don't know what meal to prepare in particular, a beef noodle stir fry does not disappoint. No noodles? Just have the chicken stir fry and serve it with rice instead. This dish is great for using up vegetables in your fridge.

Day 4: Meat Balls and Potato Salad - I love this combination and I am making this dish this week because I have all the ingredients on hand already. I have never made this dish pairing before but I have a feeling it will work out nicely. We usually have sausages or other meat dishes with the potato salad.

Day 5: Barbecue Beef Ribs - This is one of my family's favorites and I love pairing it with different side dishes.

Day 6 - Roast Chicken and Creamy Coleslaw - Perfect for a Sunday roast. You may also buy a rotisserie chicken from the shops if you are short on time, especially on week days.

Day 7 - Teriyaki salmon with steamed rice and cooked buk choy - When we crave for fish and something Asian in flavor, this dish combination makes a delicious and refreshing choice. It is quick cooking and easy to make, too.

How you can use the above meal plan:

  • Pick all or  just some of the dishes that you want to include in your meal plan this week.
  • Make a grocery list from the above meal plans to either use this week or for next week's meal plan.
  • Use the main dishes and pair with your preferred side dishes.
  • Try a dish or two from this meal plan. You might find one or more new family favourites.

Building a weekly meal plan is about reducing stress and creating a simple rhythm in your home. You don’t have to follow this sample perfectly to benefit from it. Even choosing two or three dinners from this list can make your week feel more organized and intentional. As you try these meals, notice which ones your family enjoys the most and start building your own rotation around those dishes. Over time, you’ll have a collection of go-to dinners that make meal planning and shopping much easier.
